Christmas Tree Hunt

Sunday after church we headed out to find the perfect Christmas tree.  Last year it was snowing, this year....50 degrees and pretty nice but a little muddy, a total switch.  As soon as we arrived Jamie found the perfect tree, but we decided maybe something a little bigger was in order.
 The hunt was on!
Yeah....you've totally disguised the cell phone tower, looks totally natural.
Sure we walked clear through the entire place but we finally found the perfect tree.
A picture of the kids and the tree.  Literally Ev has his hand on my belly nearly all the time, I have no personal space.  He's obsessed with Baby Top Gun.
 Jamie cut the tree down!

Problem with cutting a tree at the farthest point from the car possible is that you have to carry the tree the whole way back.  Good thing he's strong!

A few weeks ago when we were at Multnomah Falls I let Ev use my SLR camera to take some pictures, he got really into it and wanted to document our Christmas tree trip so we could put the pictures in an album, and then (as he instructed me) we should put all our pictures in album categorized by each event.  He went further into detail as to how this should be done and how important it was (we might have made a few comments as to how he was channeling Mimi right about then).  Overall the pictures aren't half bad consider he's six and he has to use the viewfinder on the camera and adjust the lens.  The rest of the pictures are ones he took although it's kinda noticeable because everything is shot from a below 4 foot tall angle.
What was funny about these are that after I handed over the camera he turned into the camera nazi.  Telling us exactly what to do even to the point telling me "no Mama, put your hands on Top Gun, there perfect" and telling us who could be in each shot.

  1. Y'all got some really good pictures!! Definitely a lot of things have changed since last years tree cutting. Cracks me up that they tried to camouflage the cell tower with fake Evergreen. Looks so natural! ha ha As I am reading about Ev and how he wants to be selective and organize the pictures into categories, I am thinking, 'hmmmmmm - I like the way this boy thinks!!" Oh yeah I have seen that somewhere before. Well, he got some really good pictures. You have to admit those taken from a 4 foot angle are pretty cool. You don't get those every day. Y'all got a very pretty tree. It is going to look so pretty decorated.
