After a few minutes of investigation he solved the mystery....it was the wisteria. Neither of us had any idea how wisteria propagated, honestly I'd never thought that hard about it. But our back deck is surrounded by it and it had just started blooming. I don't know what triggered it but the pods that had been hanging off the plant since we moved in went off and started exploding right and left and shooting their seeds all over the yard, house, and deck. So obviously story time was over (exploding plants are pretty cool) and we all went to the deck and watched/got hit by/picked up the seeds going everywhere.

Well, I have never witnessed that either. Anytime we have ever had wisteria it was far enough away from the house that I was unaware that was even going on. WOW!! Actually pretty cool. When I first read the title, I thought you might be fighting bees. That has always been the negative around here. Love - love - love the wisteria. But so do the bees. They don't bother me - but they do scare some people off. :-)
ReplyDeleteCould be because of the dry weather. That makes some plants go into survival mode.
