Tonight was the spring program at Everett's school, Ev was very excited...very very excited. The pre-school class was singing the Noah Ark song. In case you haven't had that stuck in your head for days on end it goes something like "the lord said to Noah there's going to be a floody floody." I was actually excited when I got the note home with the song choice because I remember singing that song when I was a kid and it's always easier when you're helping them learn a song you actually know. That being said it may be weeks until I stop randomly singing it....at least it's not Christmas music. Ev got to be a penguin for it which he loved, he's a little obsessed with penguins right now.
Overall it was pretty cute even if they all turned shy when they got on the stage and really the only part of the song you could hear well was "children of the Lord" at the end of the chorus. The older elementary kids did a lip sync/rap thing that I was really glad I was there for just because it made a weeks worth of conversations make sense. Ev had been talking about how Lazarus had been in the upper room with Moses and King Solomon and Daniel and I had been trying to explain how that didn't happen...turns out in this play it did, and the upper room wasn't "the upper room" it was just them hanging out together, pretty random but the kids seem to have a good time.
