We flew into DFW last Friday for a trip to visit Jamie's family for the holidays. We got in late afternoon and Jamie's cousin Jenni had told us that we should stop by her house on on our way in because we'd never seen her place before. It made sense, her place is on the way to his Aunt and Uncles, plus Ev was super happy that he would get to see the other kids right away.
We pull up to the house and much to our surprise when we walked in everyone was there, it was a surprise baby shower! It totally blew us away, we had no idea. We were so surprised that it seriously took a minute or two for all the dots to connect on what was going on. The house was decorated super cute and the cupcakes were pretty much amazing (seriously....I love that frosting). It was so sweet of Jenni to put this together (and amazing, seriously, it looked like something from Pinterest or a blog). It's kinda funny because now with finding out she is a girl, naming her, and now getting all the cute little girl things it's all gotten very real. Well, that and the fact that she is one squirmy little thing who makes her presence known constantly. I can't believe in 16 weeks (or sooner...I'm aiming for 15) we get to meet her.
It was such a cute shower!! Kudos to Jenni. Not many people could have pulled off a shower that cute the DAY AFTER Christmas!! She is a rock star. I like reading that Hannah will be here in just 16 weeks. It just sounds so much faster than four months. ha ha Counting the days to meet that sweet girl.
ReplyDeleteYep!! Loved the theme. "Baby it's cold outside." All of the Dining Room windows and the mirror were sprayed with "snow". And then Hannah's name was written in the snow on the mirror. So creative. We are all counting the days until that young lady makes her appearance. I am going with 15 weeks. :-)
