T-ball season is in the books

Ev's first season of T-ball finished up last night.  The season went so fast and was such a great experience, great coaches and a really fun group of boys.  To say he learned a lot would be the understatement of the century.  Right before his first practice it occurred to me that although he knows nearly everything about football, like he could be a football commentator. Pretty much everything he knows about baseball came from peanuts cartoons....#parentfail.

What we learned from our rookie season
1) A game of tag is an appropriate warm up.
2) Shagging balls is way more fun if you try to tackle your teammates in the process.
3) Throw it to first...always, no matter what is happening.
4) We always win....even though everyone bats, no one gets out (except that one time) and we don't keep score.  But the other team was a tough competitor, it was close and they tried hard.
5) We play for the post game snack.
6) Poison oak near your field is worthy of the Portland news doing an on location broadcast for multiple days.
7) T-ball trophies are awesome!
8) Ev is the team encourager, always an optimist.
9) Sitting on the side lines with the same group of parents for two months of practices and games is a great way to get to know people....although I still think everyone's name is _____ mom/dad
10) Practices always end at 7, not because it's dark but because it's the player's bedtime.

  1. T-ball games are so fun to watch. And I think all little boys everywhere play just about the same way. More interested in the dirt than the game and can't wait for the snacks when the game is over. Fun rite of passage.
